Virtual Prayer Resources

God is mindful of our good intentions. God hears us when we pray regardless of where we are. We at St. Nicholas look forward to welcoming you back to Church, to those familiar sights and sounds and faces, very soon. May God bless us as we forge forward, experiencing this new facet and mystery of the communion and community we share regardless of distance.

Wonderful resources you can pray along with in English and Albanian below:

Holy Transfiguration - Monastery in Ellwood City, PA -  live stream their services and archived collection of videos from past services available for viewing.

Church of Albania's site - live broadcasts, lectures, and cached presentations can be found in Albanian.

Church Guidance

Updated 3/18/2020 - please check our social media or you email for most up to date guidance

The physical church doors are closed, yet the church, our communty and prayers, continue strong.

Last night Metropolitan Tikhon, supervising bishop of our archdiocese, issued instructions that all parishes are to close their doors until April 1. We take this step in order to protect the most vulnerable. We take this step in order to be good neighbors and citizens in all our communities. As Christian people, we pray to that God Who has given us souls and bodies. Our attention to the health of both is part of our Christian way of life. Our attention to those whose needs may be different than our own is also part of our Christian life.

In these coming weeks as we are not able to come together for services, we invite you to pray from afar and to remember that, in keeping this discipline of distance, your acts, your life, your intentions can be made holy through the love and care that they embody.

Community Cleaning Resource

How to clean and disinfect:
Surfaces
  • Wear disposable gloves when cleaning and disinfecting surfaces. Gloves should be discarded after each cleaning. If reusable gloves are used, those gloves should be dedicated for cleaning and disinfection of surfaces for COVID-19 and should not be used for other purposes. Consult the manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning and disinfection products used. Clean hands immediately after gloves are removed.
  • If surfaces are dirty, they should be cleaned using a detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection.
  • For disinfection, diluted household bleach solutions, alcohol solutions with at least 70% alcohol, and most common EPA-registered household disinfectants should be effective.
    • Diluted household bleach solutions can be used if appropriate for the surface. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for application and proper ventilation. Check to ensure the product is not past its expiration date. Never mix household bleach with ammonia or any other cleanser. Unexpired household bleach will be effective against coronaviruses when properly diluted.
      • Prepare a bleach solution by mixing:
        • 5 tablespoons (1/3rd cup) bleach per gallon of water or
        • 4 teaspoons bleach per quart of water
  • For soft (porous) surfaces such as carpeted floor, rugs, and drapes, remove visible contamination if present and clean with appropriate cleaners indicated for use on these surfaces. After cleaning:
    • Launder items as appropriate in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. If possible, launder items using the warmest appropriate water setting for the items and dry items completely, or
Use products with the EPA-approved emerging viral pathogens claims (examples at this linkpdf iconexternal icon) that are suitable for porous surfaces.

Covid-19

In this time of local and national concern regarding the Corona virus, please be attentive to the changes in our parish service schedule and to those protocols now in effect. These have been implemented out of care for all in our community. We welcome you to explore the details of what is still a changing situation by taking a look at documents from our national Church and from our own Archdiocese. We are grateful for your patience and your prayers.
